Its day 3 of me being off work sick, I have never felt so shitty in my life.... When will i get better??
I've been up sinse 4am because i cant sleep due to my coughing. I went to the doctors yesterday to get checked out, she told me I had a bad flu and to get lots of rest and drink plenty of clear fluids...
So what does one do at 6;30 am on a wednesday morning?? screw around on the internet of course:)
I was looking at mackeys blog this morning and she posted about a song that was actually about masterbation.. I would have never known...
I found it very interesting so i though i would do a similar post about the meaning of a few songs... Hope you dont miind mackey:)

*Real Meaning*, Phil and his best friend were swimming at the beach and his mate began to drown so Phil asked a man to help and he said no "Thinking it was a joke" so phil watched his best friend as a kid drown and die. So later on Phil whilst on tour tracked this guy down and sent him front row seat tickets and first class air fair ticket to his tour and limosoine and everything, then when he started singing this song he put the spot light on the guy, and started singing, a few weeks later due to all the humiliation and publicity the guy commited suicide.
This is so sad, Ive always liked this song but i now have new respect for it...

Dancing Queen is about a girl in the disco scene who loves sex and is seeking out men. "You come in to look for a King/Anybody could be that guy." She's out everynight looking for a different man. She's also spreading something to the men she sleeps with, "You're a teaser, you turn 'em on/Leave them burning and then your gone." The Dancing Queen sleeps with the man, passes on an STD and then leaves. While it sounds like a pleasant song, and it has an awesome beat...its really about being a slut in the Disco Clubs.'

The message behind the song is pretty obvious, but you probably didn't know that Raine wrote this song after having a dream that his father was in the hospital dying. In the dream, he didn't make it to the hospital in time to say I love you. So in the song he says if he doesn't make it, if it really happens, know that I've always loved you although we haven't really talked alot.
4am has a double meaning. He wrote it at 4 a.m. and 'for A.M.', his father's initials.
*edit* I was chatting with a friend earlier today and apparently the whole story behind the phil collins song, in the air tonight is a rumour, i just wanted to say this incase its not true, i dont want to be spreading untrue things.. Does anyone know the truth???

That has been going around for years.
I actually have no idea what the song is about....but I dig the tune!
