is the glass 1\2 empty or 1\2 full?

I was at work today hanging out with my boss, we got on to the topic of weight loss and positive thinking... To sum it up my boss thinks i need to have more of a positive attitude towards some goals that i would like to achieve, mainly weight loss... She wasent being rude by any means, more caring then anything.. I'm the 1st to admit that i am very negative when it comes to weightloss.. I guess i feel this way because i have tried over and over again and i always end up giving up.. In a way i have learned to accept myself the way that i am... The funny thing is I am not happy with the way i am and nor do i want to accept it... Sometimes giving up just seems so much easier then trying... After leaving work for the day i have done a lot of thinking and i cant seem to get the discussion out of my head... She was totally right, i am negative about weight loss and if i put my mind to it i can do anything... Why am i settling for something that i dont want?
Here's a paragraph i found that i thought was quite interesting...
A negative attitude is self-defeating. We won’t find solutions to life’s problems by looking for someone or something to blame. Those who say, "Positive thinking doesn't work for me," have got it backwards. It’s not positive thinking that has to work; YOU have to work. For example, you have to work at appreciating what you have instead of moaning about what you lack.
From now on i am going to try and wake up every morning and think positive, instead of complaining about every day life im going to appreciate the things i have and work harder at achieving my goals....

Good for you! A positive attitude is hard to hang on to and it is WORK!! I totally understand that!! But....you CAN do anything you set your mind to. And the thing is....if you're not happy with the way you are, YOU are the only one who can change that. SOmetimes I think its just much easier to accept things than to try to change them. You can do it girl....you can do anything you set your mind to. You just have to want it! :)
I finally got sick of looking the way I look....so I started weight watchers and started walking 2-3 miles every day. I have lost 13 pounds so far and I feel great!
