Love

What do you say to a good friend who is losing her man after 5 years? This is the situation I am in right now, My friend has been a emotional rollercoaster sinse new years eve and I never know what to say to make her feel better or to make the tears stop.... How do people do it? How do you leave someone who you have built a life with and love with all of your heart and soul? I could'nt imagine if they were married, it would be that much harder.. Why does love have to be so amazing yet hurt so much at the same time? Does anyone have any ideas that may help her get through this!! I know all of you bloggers have been heart broken at one time in your life so share your experience with me ...:)

That is a hard one. No matter what you say, it will not heal what she is feeling. Just let her know that you are there, and listen and let her get it all out!

Hollz, I have to agree with Teri. SHe just needs someone to be there for her and let her express how she is feeling. It is really rough going through this....and yes she is better off that they arent married....trust me.
Also just remind her that she is a smart, beautiful woman who deserves better than she has gotten accustomed to from this guy.
Oh yeah and tell her I send her a hug or two!

Me and my girlfriends spend as much time with the hurting friend as possible to divert her attention from the pain she's feeling. Agree with the girls above. However, everything happens for a reason even if we can't see it at the moment, although telling someone that never makes them feel better at the time.

Be there for her. I guess there is not much we can do in situations like this, except be a good friend. Remind them often how amazing they are as a person and that she deserves everything good in life.

Ohhh and show up with ice cream. It's cliche but it works and it's yummy.

I think letting her cry with you is good and should help. It's nothing anyone can fix, even her. It's a grieving process and she just has to work through it- and you are awesome to be there for her.
